ACT Updates for the Summer and Fall of 2020 Tests

ACT Test Updates

+ The two ACT tests scheduled for. June 13 and July 18 are a go.

+ For the first time, there will also be two make up tests

June. 20th for students scheduled for June 13

    • July 25th for those signed up for  the July 18th test

+ NEWS FLASH!  The ACT will introduce a  test-at-home option sometime in late fall/early winter. Students will take the test on their home computers, and the ACT will use remote proctoring.  The ACT will release more information in the coming weeks about how their home proctoring will work.

NEW SUPER SCORING!  Starting in September, the ACT will allow students to retake individual sections of the ACT (English, math, reading, or science) to improve their total score. This gives students the opportunity to take one section at a time to maximize their scores while minimizing their stress levels. The ACT claims that the Super Score, in the end, is more valid than just a single composite score. We agree.  Students who take multiple ACT tests score differently in any given area.  One example is the student who scored 31 on one reading test and a 24 on another.  With super scoring, she can legitimately include the 31 in her total score.  Not all colleges accept super scores, however, so students must check with the college(s) of their choice.
